We are fortunate to be part of a project within Brighton and Hove, whereby a Community CAMHs worker will be working alongside the school for a proportion of the week.
The focus of this project is to support parents, staff and pupils in recognising and supporting a range of anxiety and mental health based challenges. Part of this will be offering coffee morning sessions focusing on self-harm. This will be an opportunity for parents and carers to get together for two hours once every term to talk through any concerns and questions they have. These will be attended by:
School Nurse – Roz Jones
School’s Child Protection Officer – Vicky Knowles
Primary Mental Health Worker from Community CAMHS – Amy Harris
These sessions have been successfully running at other schools in Brighton and Hove with the feedback being wholly positive. Those attending found it particularly useful to meet with other parents and carers who were experiencing similar issues.
The future dates are:
18th January 2016 at 9.00
14th March 2016 at 9.00
16th May 2016 at 9.00
4th July 2016 at 9.00
If you are interested in attending one or all of these sessions then please contact: email@example.com to book a place. They will all be held at Patcham Youth Centre which is just in front of the school building.
