Dear Parents and Carers

On behalf of the Governing Body, I am pleased to announce that we have appointed John McKee as our new Headteacher commencing September 2016.

The candidates took part in a rigorous selection process assessed by Governors with robust advice from the Director of Children’s Services, Pinaki Goshal and Local Authority Advisor, Craig Pamphilon.  The Senior Leadership Team supported the tasks and together with representative staff and student feedback, the selection panel came to a unanimous decision.

John McKee has been a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team since September 2007.  Since leaving military service in 1993 he has a proven track record in raising standards and expectations in a range of secondary schools.  He has held a variety of posts in education, including Head of Department, Advanced Skills Teacher and Deputy Head.  John has been instrumental in a range of effective whole school initiatives and has secured funding for the school from a number of external partners.  He is looking forward to continuing and developing his work with all stakeholders at Patcham High.

I am sure you will join us in congratulating John who says the following :

“I thoroughly enjoy working at Patcham High and I have an unshakeable belief in all our students.  It’s an amazing school driven by an extremely skilled, hardworking and passionate team of staff.  I feel honoured and privileged to have been given this opportunity to lead the school and very much look forward to building on Mrs Sargent’s significant legacy.”

Yours sincerely
Sarah Fitzjohn-Scott
Chair of Governors
