On Wednesday a group of year 9/10 girls competed at the Crawley K2 centre in the Sussex Schools Games. The event consisted of schools representing 9 different regions in Sussex. Students from year 3 to year 10 were competing in 11 different sports. The Brighton & Hove team were in red. Patcham represented Brighton & Hove in the Stoolball competition. After an exciting ‘flag ceremony’ and a motivational talk from Dina Asher-Smith (Britain’s Fastest ever female athlete) we all made our way out to the field – where despite the blustery British summer weather, we managed to play all 4 of our games. The girls played well, and despite a lack of experience held their own with the other teams. A huge congratulations and well done as their brilliant attitudes and teamwork shone through the rain. Well done to Hannah (captain) who lead the team so well and all the other ten girls; Millie, Megan, Beth, Chloe, Esther, Lynsey, Georgia, Lara, Rachel and Holly (our banner bearer).
