Dear Parent/Guardian

As you are aware, all students at Patcham High School participate in a scheme which helps to improve their reading comprehension and their learning in all subject areas.

The Scheme is called Accelerated Reader and runs alongside the DEAR sessions which happen every day.  Part of this system is called Renaissance Home Connect.  This allows you to view your child’s reading progress by keeping up to date with the books your child is reading and checking her/his book quiz information.

Below are some examples of what you will be able to view when you sign into Home Connect.

My Overall Progress screen is a snapshot of the progress that is being made. It shows the percentage correct on quizzes and the book level.

My Bookshelf shows the books that your child has read. When you click on a book it will show details such as book level, word count and points.

You can log in to Renaissance Home Connect from the Patcham High School website through the Accelerated Reader section in the Important Links. To access the page you will need the Username and Password that your child uses to access Accelerated Reader at school.

I hope that you find this helpful and that it will encourage your child to continue participate in this successful scheme while at Patcham High School.

Yours faithfully

Sarah Braiden
