In February half-term, Royal Pavilion & Museums will be running an inspiring creative workshop for young women aged 13-19 (up to 24 years with additional needs) on:

•            Mon 13th Feb at Brighton Museum and Art Gallery 11.00am – 3.30pm

The young women will take part in drama activities, explore issues affecting them as young women, visit The Fashion and Style Gallery, look at museum objects and help create a sound-based artwork based on their experiences and views. Lunch will be provided and the workshop is free.

The sound-based artwork, plus pop-up signs based on the young people’s discussions, will be installed at Brighton Museum on Saturday 4th March as part of their International Women’s Day Celebrations. Royal Pavilion & Museums, The Dome and Brighton Women’s Centre are planning a varied programme of events for International Women’s Day that will be showcased on and around this date. The participants will also be encouraged to visit the museum on this day to see and hear their work.

If you are interested, or know a young person who might be, then please contact Sarah Pain to book a space: sarah.pain@brighton-hove.gov.uk/ 07833 483245.
