Parent Gateway Issues

During the half term break, we had to move all of our databases to a new server. There was a significant issue linked to this migration that affected the functionality of our Parent Gateway  and the result of this was that the “My Child Dashboard” ceased to work.

This affects the ability to view Homework, Timetables and all related SIMS information for students and parents.

We became aware that there was a problem with not being able to access the “My Child’s Dashboard” when we returned to school on Monday 5th June.
This was immediately logged with Capita who host our Parent Gateway. We spoke with Capita every day last week regarding this, and on Thursday the problem was escalated to the Service Desk Manager.

We have today (Monday 12th ) been advised by Capita that the SIMS Learning Gateway needs to be re-installed on our new server to enable it to work properly.  Capita have scheduled to do this on the afternoon of Tuesday 13th June, after which we hope to have our service restored to full functionality.

We have stressed that this is a critical information platform for our students and parents / carers and that it is of critical importance to Patcham High School that this is rectified at the earliest opportunity.

I can only apologise for the frustration that this has caused to everyone.
