The HPV Vaccine is offered routinely to all girls from year 8 onwards as part of the national programme for vaccination of children and young people.

The HPV vaccination programme in the UK consists of two doses of the vaccine for girls who start the course before their 15th birthday.  All girls will be offered dose 1 in Year 8 and a second dose in Year 9.

A consent form pack  will be sent home with Year 8 girls this week.  IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ALL FORMS ARE HANDED IN TO MRS MCEVADDY (in the Head of Year Office), by Monday, 1st  April, 2019. Year 9 female students will be asked if they want their second dose. The vaccination sessions will take place on 26th April ’19.

If you have any questions, please consult the website www.nhs.uk or contact the Sussex Community NHS Trust Immunisation Team on 01273 696011 ext. 3789 / 8100. The school will be unable to give any medical advice.

We hope that the information provided in the pack help you and your daughter make a positive decision about the vaccination, and that you will both feel confident that by having the HPV vaccine she will be protecting herself and others from potentially serious disease in later life.

Thank you for your support
