I am immensely proud and privileged to be the Headteacher of such a vibrant and exciting place of learning. As you browse our website, I hope you too will understand the very special flavour of our school. It is a place where community spirit is very strong and which is full of opportunities for our young people. We encourage them all to develop a passion for learning that will serve their needs throughout and beyond school.
We are proud that our students are leaving us with better and better academic qualifications. Our GCSE results have improved hugely over the last few years and this means that our young people have greater choices over their future paths. Learning isn’t just about academic success, as important as that is. We encourage our students to aim for excellence in all they do and to make the very best of their abilities and skills. We want to bring out the best in each and every one of them. This means that we have the highest expectations of each student's learning, respect for self and others, sense of community, behaviour, and discipline.
Our philosophy is that everyone matters. We value all our students equally but we also value their right to excel in different ways. Our staff are dedicated, committed and enjoy working with our students; we all share a love of learning. Much hinges on effective communication - we are a community where everyone has a voice and their opinion is valued.
We want everyone to be proud to be a part of our community. We want our students to feel safe and that they belong. We want to support them in becoming independent learners. We want our students to achieve the very best results they can but we also recognise that becoming a rounded and confident young person is equally important. When our students leave us, we want them to be caring, capable and successful young adults who can face their future in a changing world with confidence.
