WE Schools

WE Schools: https://www.we.org/gb/we-at-school/ Patcham staff encourage and nurture pupils’ to raise awareness on local and global issues and charities that they feel passionate about. This is true within tutor group activities and the Life skills curriculum. The schools unique innovative G.C.S.E. WE Day event: https://www.we.org/gb/we-day/what-is-we-day/ ‘This is a powerful, life-changing experience with world-renowned speakers and performers, mixed with real inspirational stories of change. It is an opportunity for young change-makers to come together and celebrate their year of action. Students can’t buy a ticket to WE Day, they earn their way by taking one local and one global action through the year-long WE Schools programme’.

In December 2017 a group of year 9 Foundation students organised for the school to be a drop-off point for a local foodbank. It was initially set up to support the charity over Christmas. However, students decided to continue to keep the food basket throughout the academic year.  Located in the reception area. They were successful in acquiring tickets for the WE Day event that happened on March 2018 at Wembley arena.

WE Day APP: https://www.we.org/gb/wedayapp/ ‘with the generous support of The Queen’s Trust, the WE Day app was launched in the UK on-stage at WE Day UK. The WE Day app is a practical classroom tool to motivate and support young people to become changemakers. They gain access to tips for taking action, tools for tracking their impacts, and powerful stories from around the world. Young people can also use the app to earn tickets to WE Day and see what other young people are doing to help create change’.
