Vulnerable children and children of Key Workers

Dear Parent/Carer
Thank you for your continued support during these very challenging times. You will be aware that the government response is changing daily and we are taking on board the advice accordingly.
Yesterday we sent out a survey to identify those families who are categorised as key workers and thereby require support over the coming weeks if their children cannot be kept safe at home. We have also contacted parents/carers of children who fall into the vulnerable category. The school will be open to children from both these categories from Monday (8:45am – 3pm) and will remain open during all week days until further notice.
Children attending school need to be in school by 8.45am and will be required to sign in at the main school reception. We will have staff to support the children, the kitchens will be open and food will be available at the start of the day, mid-morning and lunchtime. Children are not required to wear school uniform but will be expected to participate in the learning activities on offer.
I must stress that we would not expect any children to arrive whose family is currently in self-isolation, or living with someone in the high-risk category, or showing any symptoms of the virus. Please do not send children in with under- lying health issues as this not only goes against government advice, but this could compromise other families as well and prolong the current situation.
Children should remain in school until 3pm. If they need to leave school at an earlier time they will have to sign out in the normal way and we will need parental permission for them to do so.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in such uncertain times.
