I hope you are well and keeping safe.
The main reason for writing is to thank you for the support and encouragement that you are offering your child/children with their remote learning. You are doing a great job and your hard work and tenacity is reflected in the high levels of student engagement that we are seeing throughout ‘the virtual school day.’ Although we will never be able to fully replicate a real classroom in the virtual world, we are doing our very best to ensure we are offering a valuable and effective programme of teaching and learning.
As you will be aware, the Prime Minister has announced that it will not be possible to resume face-to-face learning immediately after the February half-term. The earliest date for the full re-opening of schools is Monday 8th March. This means that remote learning remains our modus operandi for at least the next 5 weeks.
Moving forward we will continue to deliver a full timetable of live lessons that correspond with the normal school timetable. Students have shared their experiences of this latest round of remote learning via a survey that was sent out last week. The vast majority of feedback was positive and reflected the usual enthusiasm and passion that our students have for their learning. However, we are not complacent and we continue to look at how we can do even better. As such, we are interested to hear from you as a parent/carer about your experience of remote learning. It would be great if you could spare 5 minutes to complete a short survey that can be accessed via the following link.
Please can I also take this opportunity to remind you that you can make an appointment to meet with me on Zoom at one of my ‘Virtual drop-in sessions’ (Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00-9:30am) by emailing EHolmes@patchamhigh.org.uk
Thank you for continuing to engage with the school.
Please take care!
