Changes to COVID Secure Protocols

Dear Parent /Carer
I am writing to inform you of 2 key changes linked to the school’s COVID secure protocols that will come into effect after the Half Term Break. These changes are the result of a re-evaluation of our Risk Assessment aligned to a decrease in student numbers in school (after May 28th Year 11 will not be attending) and the completion of building work which allows movement around the school to be less congested.
- We will be reverting back to a normal school day. This means a Lesson 1 start at 8:35am. It is essential that all students arrive by 8:30am so that learning can start on time. The school day ends at 2:50pm. DEAR is at 11:10am in Tutor Bases. Break (20 minutes) and lunch (35 minutes) are no longer staggered.
- Students will be allowed to enter and exit the school via either of our 2 entrances (Warmdene Bridge or Main Gate).
Please can I also take this opportunity to inform you that after Half Term we will be tightening up adherence to the school’s mobile phone policy. This means any phone seen inside the building will be confiscated by staff, placed in a labelled bag in a locked safe and will need to be collected by the student at the end of the day.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Kind regards
John McKee
