Euro 2021

Dear Parent/Carer
I know that, like me, many of you will be glued to your television screens on Sunday Evening cheering on England in the final of the Euros. I am hoping that this is not a once in a lifetime opportunity and there will be many more finals in the coming years. However, at the age of 52 this is the first time in my life that England have reached this far in either the Euros or the World Cup. So, if not a once in a lifetime event, then at the very least England reaching a final has been a long-time in the waiting!
I do hope that many, if not all, of our students will get the opportunity to watch the match. And because this will mean staying up until after 11pm (possibly later if we are celebrating a win), I want to heed some of the rhetoric coming from our Prime Minister and give everyone a little bit of extra-time without fear of penalties by offering a delayed start to the school day.
For one day only, on Monday July 12th school starts at 9:35am with students going straight to their timetabled Lesson 2.
Please note that school bus service will be operating its normal timetable and although teaching won’t start until 9:35am, the school will be open from 8:15am and key staff will be available.
Have a good weekend.
Kind regards
John McKee
Headteacher
