I hope this letter finds you well.
I am writing to:
- Detail the arrangements for the end of this term and the start of next term
- Provide information on asymptomatic testing
- Clarify uniform expectations
End of term:
School will finish for the summer holidays on Friday 23rd July at 12 noon. A canteen service will be available at Break but not Lunch. Please note the school bus service will only be available to take students to school in the morning but not to take them home at 12 noon.
Over the summer students are advised to continue to test regularly using Later Flow Tests. However, the school will not be supplying test kits to students. Lateral Flow test kits can be collected either from your local pharmacy or ordered online here: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests. If a student has a positive result from a Lateral Flow Test they and other members of the household should self-isolate in accordance with Public Health advice and guidance.
Start of term arrangements:
As students will potentially mix with lots of other people during the summer holidays, all of them will receive 2 on-site lateral flow tests, 3 to 5 days apart, on their return in the autumn term. This means that the return to school in September will be staggered according to the schedule outlined below:
On-site school testing timings:
This means that Wednesday 8th September is the first full day back in school for Year 7 only. Students need to arrive at 8:25am for an 8:35am start in their Tutor Groups.
Thursday 9th September is the first full day for students in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11. All students need to arrive at 8:25am for an 8:35am start in Tutor Groups. Normal lessons will commence Period 2.
During the pandemic we have not been able to offer students access to changing rooms for PE and Sport. However, from the start of next term changing rooms will be re-opened and students will no longer be permitted to wear PE kit outside of PE lessons. Please may I remind you of our Uniform and Equipment expectations: Patcham High School Uniform & Equipment. Students who are not in correct uniform and/or without the correct equipment will be asked to address the issue and you may be called so that we can open a dialogue to support the removal of any barriers your child and/or family have in providing a full uniform.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during this school year and hope you have an enjoyable summer.
