Post 16 Progression Evening

Post 16 Progression Evening – Tuesday 12th October 2021 from 6.00pm to 7.45pm
Dear Parent/Carer
Patcham High School is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a Post 16 Progression Evening for students in Year 11 and their parents/carers.
This is a valuable opportunity for students and their parents to gather information on choices beyond 16 and to have their questions answered by our local colleges, universities and apprenticeship providers.
The evening will start at 6pm with a talk from Mr. Newman, Deputy Head teacher who will introduce the purpose of the evening and cover some of the main options that students will need to explore over the next few months.
After the talk students and parents will move on to 20 minute presentations in classrooms from local colleges and Apprenticeship team. You can listen to Bhasvic, Varndean (college and International Baccalaureate) GB Met, Plumpton and East Sussex College (Lewes).
Also, please spend 20 minutes in the canteen where we have representatives from Cardinal Newman, Brighton University, BIMM, ICTheatre, DV8, Hove Lagoon Water sports, BACA, Screen & Film School, Steve Willis Training and National Citizenship Service.
There will also be school staff on hand for you to talk to regarding any queries or questions you may have. This evening marks the beginning of Year 11 students’ exploration of the academic and vocational opportunities available to them beyond Patcham High. Over the next few months they will receive guidance and support with their choices and practical help completing college application forms and preparing for college and employer interviews.
Should you have any queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me on Nottaway@patchamhigh.org.uk or 01273 543494
Kind Regards
Ms. Ottaway – Careers Advisor
