Sarah Fitzjohn-Scott – Chair of Governors

September 2015 to present

Hello, I have lived in Patcham with my husband Nigel since 1996. Both of our children attended Patcham High and enjoyed an effective and happy learning journey through the Patcham family of schools and have now moved on to Higher and Further Education. I have worked in the education sector for 27 years and am currently Deputy Head of the School of Education at the University of Brighton, responsible for partnerships, engagement and safeguarding.

I first became a governor in 1996, when I joined governance as an elected member of staff and since then I have been privileged to be a governor at five schools and trustee in a special school Trust. I have always taken an active role as a Governor and been involved in numerous successful Ofsted Inspections.

I joined Patcham High School’s Governing Body nine years ago  in 2011. My skills, knowledge and experience in terms of education, leadership and governance is key to my role in leading the Governing Body. I am proud to be a Governor at Patcham High and work closely with the leadership team.

The Governing Body is a strong group of volunteers whose skills are utilised effectively to support and challenge the PHS leadership team to drive the strategic direction of the school. Please do contact the Clerk to the Governing Body of you are interested in becoming a governor and one of us will contact you.
