Sarah Fitzjohn-Scott – Chair of Governors

September 2015 to present

Hello, I have lived in Patcham with my husband Nigel since 1996. Both of our children attend Patcham High and have enjoyed an effective and happy learning journey through the Patcham family of schools. I have worked in the education sector for more than 20 years and am currently Assistant Head of the School of Education at the University of Brighton.

I first became a governor in 1996, when I joined governance as an elected member of staff and since then I have been privileged to be a governor at four schools. I have taken an active role as a Governor and been involved in successful Inspections.

I joined Patcham High School’s Governing Body five years ago  in 2011. My skills, knowledge and experience in terms of education, leadership and governance is key to my role in leading the Governing Body. The Governing Body is a strong group of volunteers whose skills are utilised effectively to support and challenge the PHS leadership team to drive the strategic direction of the school.
