Curriculum Overview
Patcham High School prides itself on the broad and balanced curriculum it offers its students, based on our knowledge of individual students we provide equal access and opportunity to all to promote high achievement.
Our curriculum is based around the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Humanities (Geography and History), Physical Education and Life Skills (PSHE and RE).
All students will study a full range of additional subjects in Years 7 and 8, and in Year 9, there are some elements of choice, and then more for Year 10 and 11 curriculums.
Year 7 and 8
In Years 7 and 8 alongside core subjects students will study: Art, Computing, Drama, Design Technology, Food and Nutrition, Music and Textiles. In Year 7, students will study 2 languages, French and German or French and Spanish and they will continue with one of these in Year 8.
Year 9
In Year 9 the curriculum core remains the same, with all students continuing the modern foreign language they studied in Year 8 and also with Design Technology, Food and Nutrition, and Textiles.
Students are given the opportunity to select two courses from:

Year 10 and 11
In Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11), the core curriculum includes English (Language and Literature GCSEs), Mathematics, Science (combined or triple single sciences), Geography or History (students can do both), PE and Life Skills (including RE).
Students then choose 4 option subjects from:
