Patcham High School is seeking to appoint a highly organised and proactive Senior Administrator – SEN to support our Special Educational Needs Team.

Required to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will have significant administrative experience, preferably within an educational or SEND environment, together with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCPs and school systems would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and confidential SEND records and databases.
• Coordinate annual reviews, EHCP consultations and SEND meetings.
• Prepare SEND documentation, referrals, assessments and statutory paperwork.
• Act as the main administrative contact for parents, carers, staff and external agencies.
• Support SEND reporting, data analysis and examination access arrangements.
• Manage departmental communications and the SENDCo inbox.

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Monday to Wednesday, term time only)

We require an enthusiastic, energetic, committed and skilled Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to work within our school on a job share basis. The postholder will provide administration assistance to our Designated Safeguarding Lead, providing support for students with particular needs with regards to child protection, and those facing behavioural, social & emotional barriers to learning.

Candidates should have strong organisational, interpersonal and ICT skills and as well as providing valuable admin and pastoral support to the Safeguarding Lead, and will be in regular contact with parents/carers and other stakeholders/outside agencies.

The postholder will provide intensive educational and pastoral intervention for young people at risk of exclusion, disengagement, poor attendance, exploitation or other forms of crisis. The practitioner will need to build trusted relationships with vulnerable pupils, support schools
to maintain engagement and develop practical strategies to prevent exclusion and improve educational outcomes.

Candidates should have:

• Experience working with vulnerable groups and young people.
• Experience supporting young people displaying challenging or high-risk behaviours.
• Knowledge of exclusion processes and barriers to school engagement.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to engage hard-to-reach young people.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

• Ability to work effectively with families experiencing crisis and resistance to services.
• Understanding of the impact of trauma, neglect and exploitation on children and young people.

We are looking for a calm, confident person to be our first point of contact for visitors to our school (required as soon as possible). As well as the usual Reception duties there are some additional administrative duties included in this rolet. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a busy reception environment, a pleasant telephone manner, have an understanding of working with young people, will need to work as part of a team and be helpful and welcoming to all our visitors. Experience of working in a school environment and a working knowledge of SIMS would be a distinct advantage.
