TEACHER OF ENGLISH
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our English Department. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed teacher of English to join our successful and forward-thinking English Team from September 2026.

This is a position for a person capable of making an impact; passionate about education and relentless in the pursuit of improved standards and outcomes for learners in English. We are looking for a teacher with:

Bank Cleaners Required – These positions are offered on a casual contract basis to meet peak demands during school closures and cover for staff absences.
We are looking to appoint school cleaners as soon as possible as bank staff – this means varied shifts/hours to support cleaning rotas. This includes deep cleaning in the school holidays and shifts during the school term.
The successful candidates will be required to work as part of a team or on their own under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor and Business Manager. A detailed job description and person specification is attached.

Casual Caretaker (Zero-Hours / Ad-Hoc basis)
Patcham High School is seeking to appoint a reliable and proactive Casual Caretaker to support the safe and effective use of the school site outside of normal school hours on a zero-hours, ad-hoc basis. This role is primarily focused on opening and securing the site, site security, customer liaison, and health and safety compliance when the school premises are hired by external users. The successful candidate will frequently be working alone, so confidence, initiative and the ability to respond appropriately to situations as they arise are essential.
Main duties will include:
- Unlocking and locking the school site for lettings and events
- Acting as a key holder for the premises
- Supervising and supporting customers who have hired school facilities
- Carrying out site security patrols during lettings
- Completing basic health and safety compliance checks and reporting any issues
- Responding to incidents or emergencies and escalating concerns where necessary
- Ensuring the site is left secure and in good order following use
Previous experience in caretaking, facilities, security or a customer-facing role would be desirable but is not essential, as training will be provided.
The successful candidate will:
- Be reliable, responsible and trustworthy
- Be confident working independently and using their own initiative
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Be calm, professional and approachable when dealing with members of the public
- Have an awareness of health and safety requirements
- Be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends as required

Pay will be in line with LGA Pay Scale 4b, Point 11–12 currently £14.59 per hour
(FTE £28,142 per annum pro rata).
