Science teaching at PHS provides the foundations for understanding the world and promotes curiosity.

Students are encouraged to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring and why, predict how things will behave, and question evidence. Scientific understanding is changing our lives and is vital to the world’s future prosperity. All students must learn the essential aspects of the knowledge, methods, processes and uses of science.

"What I like most about science is that it teaches us why things happen and I find it useful as it gives us a better understanding of things for example how immunisation teaches us how our body destroys harmful pathogens giving us a better understanding on our body and how to stay healthy. In science it teaches us a vast variety of topics and we get to learn about lots of different things that is happening around us"
