Modern Foreign Languages

At Patcham High School, language learning supports young people to gain an understanding of other countries' cultures in preparation for life as open-minded, global citizens.

In Modern Foreign Languages, students practise language skills and extend vocabulary through a carefully sequenced curriculum in order to embed knowledge and independence. We constantly strive to provide positive learning environments in our classrooms in which mistakes are understood to be learning opportunities and timely feedback is a core feature of lessons. Learning a language benefits our pupils' abilities to communicate with others and develops their ability to multitask in our multicultural society.
