School will be closed to students on Thursday 25th June - further information can be found the letter below:

Red Alert - School closure 25-06-26.

Information to share with pupils, staff and parents/carers:

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued red heat health alert, which means the hot weather is expected to impact people’s health.

UKHSA have issued advice on how to keep safe during this hot weather, and we would also like to emphasise to parents/carers and young people the risks of cold water swimming in these high temperatures.

During this hot weather, please be careful when entering rivers, lakes or the sea to cool down, sudden exposure to cold water can cause cold water shock.

This can lead to gasping, loss of control of breathing and, in some cases, drowning.

Please remember to:

  • Avoid swimming in unsupervised rivers, lakes or open water
  • Always choose safe, supervised places to swim, such as lifeguarded beaches or pools
  • Never enter the water after consuming alcohol or drugs
  • Check weather conditions, tides and local safety advice before visiting coastal areas
  • In an emergency at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard
