Celebration as Patcham High School Students Shine in GCSE Results
Students at Patcham High School are celebrating this year’s GCSE results with an atmosphere of pride throughout the school community.
Results have improved across the board, with more students achieving top grades and more securing overall passes than in previous years. The school's pass rate was 8% above the national average, bucking the national trend and underlining the hard work of students, staff and families.
I am incredibly proud of our students and absolutely thrilled with these results. They show not only academic strength but also the dedication, resilience and creativity of our young people. We’re proud of every single achievement, whether that’s top grades or personal progress.
John McKee, Headteacher
A quarter of all Patcham High grades, over 400 individual results, were awarded at grades 9–7 (the equivalent of A*/A), reflecting a meaningful rise in top outcomes.
Among the individual successes were students who made significant personal progress during their time at the school as well as those who achieved exceptional grades across a wide range of subjects.
We are delighted to see our students heading on to sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeships and training, with these results opening doors to exciting futures.
Mike Newman, Deputy Head
For the second year running, more students at Patcham High are achieving excellent results in Modern Foreign Languages, a notable success given that numbers nationally have been in decline. Results in creative and performance subjects including art, drama, music and dance, are also thriving with many students securing strong grades in these areas.
There was a wonderful atmosphere in the school hall as students collected their results, with families and teachers on hand to share in the celebrations. Smiles, hugs and even a few happy tears marked the occasion.
