Brighton Magistrate Inspires Citizenship GCSE Students
Robert Macrowan, Justice of the Peace, recently visited our GCSE Citizenship classes to deliver two insightful sessions on law and the role of magistrates in the UK legal system.
Magistrates play a vital role in administering justice, making important decisions in both criminal and family courts. Their work helps to protect, support, and improve the lives of people within their communities.
'Hearing directly from a magistrate brought the law to life for our students. It was an inspiring opportunity to understand the real-world impact of justice in our community.'
Ms Meaker
The workshops were both engaging and inspiring, giving students a deeper understanding of how justice is delivered at a local level. The classes are now eagerly looking forward to visiting Brighton Law Courts in the new year, where they will experience the workings of the courtroom first-hand.
It was really interesting to learn how magistrates make such important decisions that affect people’s lives. It made me even more excited to visit the courts and see justice in action!”
